In this article I’m going to focus on problems and cures for dry skin with home made remedies.
Dry skin tends to be flaky and rough. Winters are big challenges for dry skin. If you are reading this then probably you have a dry skin and you are sick and tired of using moisturisers and many other products which are available in the market but, come with a big price tag.
Natural home remedies are not only cheap but are quite effective too.
1. Coconut oil-
Coconut has high level of fat which conditions the skin making it smooth and supple. Coconut oil should be applied daily. You should apply this before sleeping at night and rinse it off with water in the morning.
2. Gram flour,honey and milk face mask-
In a bowl take 4tbsp gram flour,and mix in it about 1 tsp honey and 1tsp milk. You could also add olive oil. Mix all the ingredients really well and apply it on your face. Let it sit for 20 minutes and then rinse off with water.
3. Almond oil-
Almond oil has moisturising properties which makes skin smooth. Apply this for an hour and then keep a Washcloth over your face for 5 minutes so that it absorbs the excessive oil.
4. Olive oil and Castor oil-
Take a few drops of virgin olive oil and a few drops of castor oil. Mix them together and apply it on your face at night before sleeping. Wash it off in the morning. Castor oil penetrates deeper into the skin better than any other oil and is thus best for people with dry skin.
5. Moisturising yogurt and sugar skin scrub-
Dry skin is sensitive and thus while using a scrub you have to be extra careful as to not hurt yourself. In a bowl take 3tbsp of white/brown sugar granules , 1/4 cup yogurt and 2tsp honey. Mix all the ingredients well and apply it on the face and start scrubbing slowly. Scrub for 5 minutes and then wash it off. Yogurt contains lactic acid that treats dryness and removes dead skin cell leaving the skin smooth and glowing.
6. Oatmeal face mask-
Take 3tbsp oatmeal,1tsp honey and 6tbsp milk. Warm the milk,place the oatmeal in a bowl and add milk to it. Wait for a few minutes for the milk to cool down and then add honey to it. Mix all the ingredients well and then apply it on your face. Let it sit for 20 minutes and then wash it off by slowly scrubbing your face. Oatmeal is one of the most effective home remedies for dry skin.
7. Rosewater and glycerine –
Simply mix few drops of rosewater and a few drops of glycerine and apply it on your face. Glycerine helps to soothe the dry and irritated skin. This is a great toner for people wuth dry skin.
8. Papaya and yogurt face mask-
Take 1/2 cup yogurt, papaya(Accordingly as to how much you need),1tsp honey and a few drops of lemon. Mash the papaya really well and then mix all the ingredients together and apply it on your face for 20 minutes and then wash it off.
So basically by the end of this article you must have understood that the key to take care of dry skin is to keep it moisturised. You could simply just dab some oil on your face and let it stay. Never use harsh products and also before trying the above given remedies you could try doing a patch test to see if everything suits your skin.
